Description
What kind of wine it is
Vis Müller Thurgau is a still white wine representing Trentino. Made from Müller Thurgau grapes, it stands out for its aromatic profile reminiscent of green apple, lychee, and delicate hints of lily of the valley. On the palate, it is juicy, supported by a lively savouriness and a clean finish with a distinct mineral character. It is ideal for accompanying starters and salads, and is also perfect paired with white meats and lean fish.
Where it comes from
The grapes grow between the municipalities of Giovo and Meano, in the splendid setting of the Val di Cembra. The vineyards are located at around five hundred and eighty metres above sea level, with exposures facing west and south. The vines sink their roots into porphyritic and silty soils, which ensure excellent natural drainage. This habitat is characterised by a cool continental climate, where strong temperature variations and the influence of mountain breezes encourage the development of intense and defined aromas, providing a clear gustatory tension.
How it is produced
The process begins with a manual harvest, carefully selecting the best bunches. To preserve the varietal aromas, the grapes undergo gentle pressing in an inert atmosphere, avoiding contact with oxygen. The must undergoes static decantation before fermenting in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The process concludes with a measured ageing on fine lees lasting six months, which gives the wine harmony and depth before being released to the market.
History and Curiosities
Introduced in Trentino in the mid-twentieth century, Müller Thurgau La Vis thrives on the terraced slopes of the Val di Cembra and Meano. At an altitude of 580 metres, the cool climate and porphyritic soils give the grapes an extraordinary aromatic elegance. The rigorous manual harvest in September is followed by careful vinification in an inert atmosphere, a fundamental process for preserving the delicate floral aromas and enhancing the vibrant savouriness that distinguishes this fascinating white wine.

The logo takes inspiration from a decorative element that has always been present in the company and bears a highly symbolic value: a wooden bas-relief celebrating the founding of the winery in 1948 which represents the coats of arms of the municipalities of Lavis, Giovo and Meano, the very first protagonists in the association’s establishment. A timeless brand of great strength that puts the Winery and its founding values at the centre: cooperation, history and the bond with the territory.
The Lavis wine-makers cooperative traces its origins to 1850, when the Cembran family built the initial core of the current production unit. It was officially formed in 1948 by 14 independent wine-makers and grew in the years that followed, due partly to acquisitions of other producers, including mergers with the Salorno Cooperative of South Tyrol in 1969 and Cantina Sociale di Cembra in 2003.
