Description

Type of wine

The Bachmann Pinot Noir Riserva from Kellerei Bozen is an Alto Adige Controlled Designation of Origin red wine, an authentic expression of the Pinot Noir grape variety aged in French barrels, with a balanced and elegant character. To the eye, it presents an intense ruby colour. The olfactory profile expresses aromas of cherry, forest fruits, and plum, enriched by spiced notes of cinnamon and cloves, with nuances of vanilla and tobacco. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied structure and a strong personality, supported by soft and velvety tannins that accompany the sip towards a dry finish, ideal for enhancing game dishes or medium-aged cheeses.

Where it comes from

This red originates in Alto Adige, in the renowned territories surrounding Bolzano. The grapes are grown on steep and selected vineyards located on the Renon plateau, at an altitude between 600 and 700 metres above sea level. The altitude of the vineyards gives the wine a well-structured and elegant character. Produced by the Kellerei Bozen winery, the wine reflects the territorial identity of the area, enhancing the local microclimate through a rigorous stylistic approach that guarantees limited-scale production.

How it is produced

The harvest takes place in September. The production cycle begins with fermentation inside wooden vats or barrels, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity of the fruit. Ageing involves a six-month period in French barrels, allowing the wine to develop complexity and perfectly integrated tannins. The process concludes with further resting before marketing, ensuring perfect harmony between all structural components.
