Description
A still red wine from South Africa, 14% ABV, produced by Cape Best. A unique blend, the Kadette Cape Blend combines Pinotage, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. After harvest, fermentation takes place in open-air concrete tanks at 28°C, with punching down every two hours. The must is separated from the skins after three days. Aged for 12-14 months in 225-liter, second- and third-use Nevers French oak barrels. On the nose, it presents vibrant crimson nuances, with aromas of raspberry, cherry, black cherry, pear, cinnamon, and clove. On the palate, the soft, elegant tannins and crisp acidity are perfectly balanced with a vibrant burst of fruit. Juicy flavors of red and black berries and a hint of chocolate dominate the lingering finish.
