It all began in the last years of the nineteenth century, with Paolo Bariselli and his first approaches to the vine. Paolo acquired a farmhouse in Nigoline di Corte Franca at the beginning of the 20th century. Giuseppe, in the first post-war period, was instead responsible for the expansion of the family vineyard from 3 to about 10 hectares of land. In the 90s Francesco and Gianbattista marked the turning point, renovating the farmstead in Nigoline and starting, in the second half of the decade, the "Solive" agritourism activity, one of the first in the territory. Initially the red wine produced by their great-grandfather was destined for family and friends, but already in the mid 70s the production of Chardonnay began for sale to the best wineries in the area. Since then, in order to continue to meet these demands and respond to consumption on the farm, investments in the vineyards have been increasing.

In 1993 the first Solive brand bottles were vinified: proposed in '97 on the local market, they immediately received a positive response. This is how Gian Mario developed the renewed vision that would inaugurate a process of growth, both in terms of experience and awareness, culminating in the foundation of the Erbusco winery in 2002. The first bottles vinified here arrived on the local market in 2006.

The virtuous agricultural chain inaugurated at the end of the 19th century, which passed from the farm to the farm, found its natural completion in the new winery, which gave the opportunity and space, including intellectual space, to dedicate itself assiduously to the elevation of its contents. This is how a new goal began to emerge in 2011: the Solive Franciacorta DOCG, now reserved for customers of the farm, were gradually joined by the first bottles destined to bear the new brand of excellence, I Barisèi, the quintessence of many years spent measuring their skills and value.

Under the name of I Barisèi, a new chapter in the long history of the Bariselli family, winemakers in Franciacorta since 1898. A little more than a century after the first grape harvest conducted by his great-grandfather Paolo, Gian Mario Bariselli has decided today to enhance tradition, knowledge and oenological skills in the project that takes its name, or rather, the nickname, "I Barisèi", as they call them in local dialect.

Wine making The grapes, painstakingly selected during the harvest, are softly pressed to extract only the qualitative heart of the product. The first fermentation takes places in thermoconditioned stainless steel tanks where the sparkling wine base rests for at least 8 month before assembly. In creating the Cuvée of this product, minimum parts of all the first selections are included, thereby creating a balanced and complete product, reflecting all the facets of a company in contact with the land for centuries (hence the name Sempiterre).
