Description

What kind of wine it is

Haderburg Rot Pinot Nero is an organic red wine produced by Haderburg in Trentino-Alto Adige. Originating from the Vigneti delle Dolomiti area, it expresses the pure character of Pinot Noir, presenting itself in the glass with a brilliant light ruby colour. The aromatic profile opens with clear notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry, enriched by measured hints of liquorice, vanilla and bitter orange. On the palate, it is deep and rounded, offering a perfect balance between fruity freshness and structure. Thanks to its complexity, this wine boasts an excellent ageing potential estimated between 5 and 10 years.

Where it comes from

The grapes are grown in the municipality of Salorno, in South Tyrol, cultivated on slopes situated between 350 and 550 metres above sea level. The calcareous-clay soils of the area promote the development of a harmonious flavour profile and provide great balance. The vineyards are trained using pergola and Guyot systems, with careful management aimed at maintaining controlled yields to preserve the excellence of the raw material. This pedoclimatic environment supports the natural freshness of the grapes, while vineyard management follows the principles of sustainable viticulture.

How it is produced

After harvesting, the grapes undergo fermentation in steel to preserve the vibrancy and primary aromatic integrity of the grape variety. The process continues with twelve months of ageing in barrels, an essential step to impart roundness and integrate spicy notes without overpowering the fruit. This careful cellar process defines a versatile profile at the table. It pairs perfectly with starters and white or red meats, and also finds excellent harmony with delicate fish, pork dishes and cheeses.

The Haderburg – our winery's namesake – is located on a rugged mountain promontory on the edge of Salurn, the southern-most viticultural community in South Tyrol. Above Salurn, primeval grape-growing soil and good climatic conditions have created the prerequisites for distinct red and white wines and sparkling wines.

In the mid-1970s, we made the daring transformation from being a fruit-growing farm concerned only with the production and sale of grapes and apples to a winery which processes its own grapes. Since that turning point, our enthusiasm for good wines and champagnes has set the tone for the work in the vineyards and in the wine cellar.
