Description

What kind of wine it is

Vigne Alto Adige Chardonnay is a still white wine that captures the essence of the peaks from which it originates. Produced by enhancing Chardonnay, it presents a lively yellow-green colour to the eye. The aromatic bouquet is delicately fruity, with clear hints of pineapple and banana. On the palate, it is slender and fresh, supported by a pleasant structural component. It pairs successfully with shellfish, oysters, fish dishes and white meats, ideally served at a temperature of 12-14 °C.

Where it comes from

This white wine originates from the Alto Adige region. The vineyards are cultivated at an altitude between 400 and 700 metres, in a climate that is perfect for balanced ripening. The roots draw nourishment from alluvial soils with porphyritic sediments, warm and deep soils that favour the growth of the vines. Trained using the Guyot system, the vines best express the characteristics of Trentino-Alto Adige, giving a wine with an extremely clean and linear profile.

How it is produced

Production begins in mid-September with a gentle pressing, a fundamental step to preserve the finesse of the fruit. Fermentation at a controlled temperature ensures the clarity of the aromas, while subsequent maturation on fine lees in stainless steel tanks adds volume to the palate. The decision to avoid malolactic fermentation preserves the wine's natural gustatory tension, ensuring vitality and a good ageing potential over time.

History and Curiosities

This elegant single-variety Chardonnay expresses the authentic freshness of the South Tyrolean mountains, thanks to vineyards located between 400 and 700 metres above sea level on fertile alluvial soils. The careful and delicate processing involves ageing on the fine lees in steel, excluding malolactic fermentation to preserve a lean and lively sensory profile. In the glass, it reveals a bright yellow-green colour and an enveloping fruity bouquet with notes of pineapple and banana. Ideal with oysters, shellfish and white meats.
