Description
What kind of wine it is
Freccianera Franciacorta Blanc de Blancs Brut is a sparkling wine made using the Traditional Method, obtained from a blend of grapes such as Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. It is characterised by a fine and persistent perlage, accompanied by citrus notes and hints of pineapple, wildflowers, and bread crust. On the palate, it reveals a fresh and lively character, enriched by a pleasant savoury finish. Served at a temperature of 6-8 °C, it is ideal as an aperitif or paired with fish dishes, shellfish, cheeses, and pizzas.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Franciacorta, in the area of Borgonato di Corte Franca. Here, the Freccianera brand cultivates its own vineyards among the morainic hills, in a region with an extraordinary vocation for winemaking. The vines grow on loose, calcareous soils, benefiting from a favourable microclimate for the perfect ripening of the grapes. These environmental conditions give the wine an agile and clean drinkability, conferring a precise identity that faithfully reflects its territory of origin.
How it is produced
Production involves an early manual harvest at the end of August. The bunches undergo gentle pressing, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. As required by the Traditional Method, the prise de mousse takes place through a slow second fermentation in the bottle. The process concludes with a rigorous ageing on the lees for twenty-five months, a fundamental step to achieve a silky texture and greater aromatic complexity before release.
History and Curiosities
Freccianera Franciacorta Brut 25 is the latest creation from the Fratelli Berlucchi winery, located among the morainic hills of Borgonato di Cortefranca. This elegant non-vintage Blanc de Blancs, with its fresh and youthful character, owes its name to the 25 months of meticulous ageing on the lees, which are essential for the development of its silky perlage. A true expression of the Lombardy region, this outstanding sparkling wine boasts prestigious international awards bestowed by industry experts such as Vinous and James Suckling.

From the love between Francesco and Giustina, Ignazio, the first-born son, and Antonio Berlucchi, the second-born son, were born. On the death of his father Francesco, the eldest son Ignazio inherited the historical palace of the Lana-Berlucchi family, while the second-born Antonio inherited the Casa delle Colonne and a set of agricultural plots particularly suited to the cultivation of vines. Antonio founded the farm in 1927, which he then left to his five children, siblings Francesco, Gabriella, Marcello, Roberto and Pia Donata Berlucchi.
In 1977, the siblings began to produce Franciacorta, initiating the historic and current collaboration with oenologist Cesare Ferrari; on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of production, the Freccianera millesimati line was born: Millesimo 2007, a limited series of 3,000 bottles destined to be released on the market after 6 years of ageing on the lees.
The arrow shot from the medieval past that the family's palaces and vineyards recount, arrives today, with the unchanged black colour, from the first label of 1977. Read more
