Description
The sparkling white wine Franciacorta Brut 25 is a wine product with the Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin (DOCG). This non-vintage sparkling wine is the latest creation from the Berlucchi Brothers winery, located in Corte Franca in the moraine hills of Franciacorta. The blend is composed of Chardonnay grapes (80%) and Pinot Blanc grapes (20%) harvested slightly early and pressed continuously in a single fraction of time. Grown with total respect for the environment, without the use of harmful substances, the native vines that give this sparkling wine its identity represent the culture of an area with a vocation for winemaking. With several accolades, including one from the wine business experts at the Decanter World Wine Awards, Franciacorta Brut 25, whose name recalls the number of months between harvest and release, is a sparkling wine with a youthful, fresh, and immediate appeal. It is produced from vines grown in loose, calcareous soils and favored by an optimal microclimate. The grapes, harvested strictly by hand, are placed in small crates before being carefully selected. After the harvest, which takes place in the second half of August, the must obtained from the Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc grapes is fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel vats. After fermentation, the wine is matured and aged on specially selected yeasts. This phase lasts just over 25 months, after which the sparkling wine is placed on the market.

From the love between Francesco and Giustina, Ignazio, the first-born son, and Antonio Berlucchi, the second-born son, were born. On the death of his father Francesco, the eldest son Ignazio inherited the historical palace of the Lana-Berlucchi family, while the second-born Antonio inherited the Casa delle Colonne and a set of agricultural plots particularly suited to the cultivation of vines. Antonio founded the farm in 1927, which he then left to his five children, siblings Francesco, Gabriella, Marcello, Roberto and Pia Donata Berlucchi.
In 1977, the siblings began to produce Franciacorta, initiating the historic and current collaboration with oenologist Cesare Ferrari; on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of production, the Freccianera millesimati line was born: Millesimo 2007, a limited series of 3,000 bottles destined to be released on the market after 6 years of ageing on the lees.
The arrow shot from the medieval past that the family's palaces and vineyards recount, arrives today, with the unchanged black colour, from the first label of 1977. Read more
