Description
Still red Barbaresco DOCG, 14.5% ABV, produced by Fratelli Borgogno, 2020 vintage. A Barbaresco born in the heart of Piedmont, from Nebbiolo grapes grown with passion since 1897. Maceration takes place in wooden vats for approximately 12-15 days, with frequent pumping over. Aged in 25-50 hl Slavonian oak barrels for approximately 2 years. The nose is characterized by small red fruits: raspberry, currant, wild strawberry, followed by red rose, pink peppercorns, cocoa, mint leaves, and tobacco. Balanced and composed on the palate, with a finish that hints of orange zest.

At the time of his death, he left the family house and cellar to Lodovico Borgogno. In that house, Lodovico Borgogno passed on to his sons Serio and Battista the art of wine-making and the deep love for his land. When he died, Serio and Battista Borgogno inherited some land and a small farmhouse in Cannubi.
With foresight, Serio & Battista Borgogno managed to turn their dream into reality: building their house and their winery on top of Cannubi, buying more vineyards all around for a total of 3 ha, in the heart of Cannubi. They were able to grasp the great potential of a place that is now worldwide known and that is considered one of the best cru in Barolo. Read more
