Description
Organic still red wine from Etna DOC, 15% ABV, produced by Frank Cornelissen. 100% Nerello Mascalese, a native grape variety that best expresses the volcanic character of the terroir. 0.75 L bottle, 2021 vintage. The winery was founded in 2001, when Etna was still unknown as a wine-growing area. The vineyards are located in the northern valley of the active volcano. Destemming and light pressing of the grapes. Fermentation with a pied-de-cuve of only indigenous yeasts and contact with the skins for approximately 50 days. Aged in neutral fiberglass tanks for 18 months, followed by an additional 18 months in bottle.
