Description
What kind of wine it is
The Alto Adige Pinot Nero Ludwig by Elena Walch is a red wine that fully expresses the identity of Alto Adige. Made from Pinot Noir grapes, it offers a complex bouquet of red fruits and plums, enhanced by distinct notes of cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, it stands out for its refined elegance, led by soft tannins and a vibrant freshness. A balanced minerality accompanies the persistent finish, making it ideal for pairing with starters and light dishes.
Where it comes from
This refined production originates in the mountainous areas of Termeno on the Wine Road. The grapes grow on old vines, some still cultivated using the Trentino pergola system, which encourages optimal ripening. The project offers a classic and multifaceted interpretation of the grape variety. Thanks to the rigorous selection of plots, the wine boasts a structure that promises ten to fifteen years of longevity, ensuring a fascinating evolution over time.
How it is produced
The manual harvest precedes careful processing that uses gravity to preserve the quality of the berries. After a forty-eight hour cold maceration, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with ten days of skin contact. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in wood, followed by fourteen months of ageing in French oak barrels, partly new and partly used, which give the sip a complex harmony.
