Description

Champagne Affute A/1 Extra Brut, produced by Dumont-Terriollon. An extra brut classic method from the Champagne region. 0.75 L bottle, 12% ABV, with a blend of 66% Pinot Noir and 34% Chardonnay. A wine that celebrates the history of a family of winemakers for five generations. Aged for a minimum of 36 months in the cellar. A rich nose elevates the wine with notes of blond tobacco and oriental spices, warmed by the fragrance of tonka beans. On the palate, the wine is rounded and sweet with notes of bourbon vanilla, enhanced by cinnamon, yet also airy with a freshness and delicate tension brought by notes of flowers and bergamot.

From this winery
We were able to trace our history back to the 1860s with our great-great-grandfathers Charles Michelot and Gustave Terrillon, both winegrowers by profession. Our story continues with our great-grandfather, André Terrillon, who in the 1920s was the first to plant vines on the Gravilliers hillside, which is now our flagship plot.

In 1943, the Dumont-Terrillon marriage took place, the marriage of our grandparents André and Madeleine, who developed the estate by combining their respective vineyards into a single vineyard. Our grandfather was also one of the founders of the Neuville-Buxeuil wine cooperative in 1951, which brought together winegrowers from 7 communes on the Côte des Bar.

Our father, Michel Dumont, continued to develop the vineyard from the 1970s onwards, in particular by enlarging our Gravilliers plot, which now covers 5 hectares. As well as the vines, our father also passed on to us his passion for the winegrowing profession, his pride in our terroir, the pleasure of working with nature, and the moments of sharing with their seasonal employees. The trellising and the grape harvests are childhood memories that remain engraved in our minds.

Arnaud took over the business in 2003 after 6 years studying viticulture and oenology. His ambition was to produce the family champagne, so in 2007 he bought a press and made his first home-made wine!

In 2022, we began writing a new chapter in our history. Our plan was to produce and market a family champagne, and from this was born Champagne Dumont-Terrillon. It's not just the champagne of a brother and sister, it's also a tribute to our family of passionate Aube winemakers, who have been in the business for 5 generations.
