Description

What kind of wine it is

The Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie Marco Polo by Domini Veneti is a still white wine with controlled designation of origin from Veneto, made from Pinot Grigio grapes, with a clear straw yellow colour enhanced by delicate coppery highlights. On the nose, it presents a clear aromatic profile, characterised by notes of white flowers, peach, pear and citrus fruits, wrapped in a subtle mineral hint. On the palate, it reveals a lively acidity and a well-balanced medium body, making it smooth and pleasant to drink. The clean, fruity finish defines a fresh and elegant style, with excellent overall balance, supported by fermentation in steel and ageing on the lees.

Where it comes from

The Pinot Grigio grapes come from Veneto, within the Delle Venezie production area, more precisely in the Montecchio Maggiore area, in the province of Vicenza. The vineyards are located on well-ventilated hills, where gentle temperature variations and the particular soil composition enhance the aromatic richness of the grapes. This favourable microclimate ensures balanced ripening, giving the flavour profile a marked definition. The connection with the land translates into a dry and fragrant glass, enhanced by a distinct freshness and great expressive clarity.

How it is produced

The production process begins with careful manual harvesting, aimed at picking the bunches while preserving their integrity. This is followed by gentle pressing to delicately extract the must, maintaining the aromatic profile of the Pinot Grigio. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, a crucial step to preserve the primary aromas of the fruit. Finally, the wine rests on the lees for six months, gaining structure and measured complexity without ever losing its natural agility.

History and Curiosities

The Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC from the historic Domini Veneti winery, founded in 1933, celebrates the excellence of the Veneto region by paying tribute to Marco Polo. Production takes place on the hills of Vicenza under the supervision of oenologists Accordini and Zordan.

We are professional and winegrowers working togheter with a wholehearted cooperative spirit, for the good of our winegrowing region: Valpolicella, more specifically, Valpolicella Classica, the homeland of Amarone. We are the young people of today and of yesterday, united by a great sense of responsibility for our people and for the environment in which we work. Producers, aware and responsible for the wines we love.

The spirit is the same as that of the visionary cooperative founded in 1933 by the seven businessmen from Verona, just as the very same principles guide our work on a daily basis today and inspire every new project: initiative, reciprocity and collaboration.

Generations that work side by side: this is the strength of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar. It is the same strength that has enabled us to stride through history and become the benchmark producer when it comes to Amarone, Ripasso and the technique of Appassimento.

Energy and creativity on the one hand; on the other, the wisdom that comes from the experience of many vintages, leading to a generational renewal that takes place while we work together.
