Description
What kind of spirit is this
Liquore alla Camomilla con Grappa Milla by Marolo is a distinctive herbal liqueur from Italy that blends robust Nebbiolo grappa with a delicate infusion of chamomile flowers. At 35% alcohol, this aromatic digestif reveals a pronounced floral profile with perfectly balanced sweetness. The palate offers a soft, rounded texture leading to a clean and soothing finish. To fully appreciate its harmonious character, it is best served well chilled or over ice.
Where it comes from
Hailing from the Langhe region in Piedmont, Italy, this liqueur follows an authentic local recipe. Its connection to the land is expressed through the pairing of chamomile with a spirit deeply rooted in the regional viticultural heritage. By faithfully following this historic formula, Marolo offers an accurate expression of local customs that has since been widely imitated. This provenance ensures a gentle, floral flavour profile that is perfectly suited as an after-dinner digestif.
How it is produced
Production relies on the direct infusion of chamomile flower heads into the spirit to naturally extract their botanical aromas. The mixture undergoes a slow 11-month maceration, building intensity of flavour while ensuring the palate remains remarkably soft. This patient process imparts a characteristic golden hue and reinforces its sweet, herbal identity. Ultimately, this method yields a uniquely smooth and rounded texture that highlights the quality of the primary ingredients.
History and Curiosities
Rooted in an ancient Langhe recipe, Milla by Distilleria Marolo is based on an original and widely imitated formula. To honour its traditional heritage whilst appealing to a modern audience, the brand has introduced elegantly redesigned packaging, ensuring this herbal liqueur remains one of Piedmont’s most authentic expressions.

Marolo represents the spirit of the land, the loyalty to its most noble vineyards and the transformation into a grappa that glorifies its natural characteristics. Distillation happens in bain marie disctoninuos stills, one for white and another for red, in small batches over a long period of time so that the original flavours of the grapes can be experienced.
Marolo is based in Alba, the capital of the Langhe, one of the world’s premier winegrowing districts for its diversity of grape varietals and the quality of its wines. The Langhe hills produce some of the finest red wines, such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Dolcetto and Brachetto, but also great whites like Roero Arneis and the aromatic Moscato d’Asti.
Marolo’s grappas are a mirror of the incredible richness and diversity of the territory and viticulture. Not a neutral, standardized, industrial product, but a spirit able to narrate the grape from which it came, to enhance the varietal’s typical aromas, and express a unique, personal character linked to its land of origin.
