Description
Still white wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, 14% ABV, produced by Podversic Damijan. Blend: 40% Chardonnay, 30% Friulano/Sauvignon Vert, 30% Malvasia Bianca. 2021 vintage. A wine of rare complexity, an explosion of aromas reminiscent of beeswax, almonds, chestnut honey, bergamot, pear, and black tea, with a floral undertone of lime blossom and alfalfa. Fermentation takes place on the skins in truncated cone-shaped oak vats for 60-90 days. Aged in 20 and 30 hl barrels for 23 months and then in bottle for 6 months. The color is a slightly opalescent antique golden yellow. Full-bodied and soft, warm and enveloping, with great persistence.

Today on these lands we have the most important vinyards, six hectares planted with ribolla gialla, malvasia, friulano, merlot e cabernet sauvignon.
We have another half hectare at San Floriano, planted with chardonnay, which was part of my grandfather’s holding. We have a further two hectares rented at Gradiscutta with chardonnay, malvasia e friulano. For the past twenty years we’ve had at Piedimonte another one and half hectares with friulano, chardonnay e malvasia. Read more
