It was around 1500 when the noble Neapolitan family of Conti Zecca decided to move to Puglia, and more precisely in the lands of Leven, in the heart of Salento, intensive farming and to start their own companies. Over the centuries the family tradition of production evolved further in 1935 and the Count Mint Alcibiades, with entrepreneurship and courage, he decided to make wine from the grapes in their own lands: thus was born the cellar of Leven, a modern and efficient structure that made centers of this country one of the most commercially significant of Salento and Apulia. After World War II, his son, Count Joseph, introduced new methods of management of the vineyard and expanded the chain, also introducing the filling.

From far away in 1500, then, the tradition of dedication to the vineyards of the Mint family has never stopped. Today the heirs, accounts Alcibiades, Francis, Luciano and Mario Zecca, dedicated with passion to run the family business, along with meticulous care of the entire control of its production, soil and climate of the environment on the choice of grape varieties and clones most suitable plant the vineyard, the choice of agricultural techniques and the most appropriate time of harvest to bottling the finished product, to produce high quality wines.
