Description

What kind of wine it is

Maso Cervara Teroldego Rotaliano Superiore Riserva is a still red wine that enhances the authenticity of the Teroldego grape variety. On the nose, it reveals a clean bouquet with notes of small red fruits and violet. Visually, it displays a ruby red colour with violet reflections, while on the palate it is well-structured and enveloping, leaving an intense aftertaste of blackberry and blueberry. It pairs harmoniously with roast red meats, game, and mature cheeses.

Where it comes from

This red wine originates from the renowned vineyards of Trentino, within the most suitable areas of Campo Rotaliano, in the municipality of Mezzolombardo. The unique microclimate of this area gives the wine a pronounced varietal identity and a well-defined aromatic profile. By making the most of the vocation of these lands, Cavit interprets Teroldego Rotaliano to obtain grapes ideal for developing a solid structure and a deep colour.

How it is produced

After careful manual harvesting, the grapes undergo red vinification with medium-long maceration on the skins. Maturation continues for about fifteen months in wooden barrels, an essential step to consolidate the wine's balance. At the end of this phase, a brief refinement in the bottle follows. This meticulous winemaking process ensures a full and persistent flavour profile, making the wine ready to be enjoyed in the glass.

History and Curiosities

The Maso Cervara Teroldego Rotaliano Superiore Riserva embodies the winemaking excellence of Trentino. Produced by Cavit in the Campo Rotaliano of Mezzolombardo, this red wine is made from hand-picked Teroldego grapes. After traditional maceration on the skins, the wine undergoes 15 months of ageing in barriques and barrels, perfecting its structure before resting in the bottle. Awarded the gold medal at Mundus Vini, this DOC Superiore Riserva offers an enveloping experience.

Cavit is a company deeply rooted in the region to which it belongs: Trentino. A small area in the north-east of Italy where the vine, olive tree and Mediterranean-type vegetation live side by side with spruces and larches of the Alpine flora. A land of ancient traditions and culture, where the presence of man, with his villages, castles and cultivated terraces blends in harmoniously with the majestic Alpine landscapes.

The image that best represents Cavit, a large co-operative composed of a large number of small wineries, is that of the vine that produces healthy grapes only if the roots and the other parts of the plant all perform their roles properly.

Created in 1950 to meet the needs of the winegrowers in the area to offer the very best quality and market their wines in a modern way, today Cavit represents over 4,500 winegrowers who are members of 11 cellars and 65% of the wine production in Trentino (around 5,700 ha). Cavit harvests, examines and selects its raw materials from the best produce of the cooperative member cellars, which undergoes strict controls at every stage: from refining to bottling.

Cavit today is one of the major companies in the wine business, operating successfully at national and international level. The headquarters in Ravina, where the production and logistics facilities are also located, house the Wine Cellar, Sparkling Wine Cellar and Wine Shop. Cavit also owns Maso Toresella, used for corporate entertaining, on Lake Toblino.

This structured wine pairs beautifully with roasted red meats and the bold flavours of game. Its balanced and enveloping character perfectly complements the richness of well-aged cheeses. To enhance its intense fruity aftertaste, it is recommended to serve it in a large tulip-shaped glass; decanting is not necessary.
