Description
A still white wine from Tuscany IGT, 13% ABV, produced by Castello di Ama. Blend of 100% Chardonnay, 2024 vintage. A wine that embodies the elegance and sophistication of the Tuscan terroir, with meticulous winemaking that enhances its characteristics. Castello di Ama was founded in 1976, when four families originally from Rome set out to restore a prestigious winery to its former glory. Sixty percent of the must was chilled and fermented in steel tanks, while the remainder was aged in barriques. The remaining 25% of the grapes destined for wood fermentation macerated on the skins for approximately 12 hours. The barriques (Allier, Troncais) were 50% new and 50% one-year-old. The portion vinified in barriques underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged in wood "sur lies" for approximately eight months, with regular batonnage every seven days. A bright, clear gold color. Floral with hints of typical summer white flowers. Fruity, reminiscent of summer fruits such as apricot, and a fairly prominent almond note. A decisive attack, with an excellent mineral and fresh opening. Excellent persistence and length.
