Description

Brunello Giovanni Neri expresses our tradition and winemaking philosophy, and embraces the values of sustainability, and the territory’s uniqueness. After fifty years from the purchase of the first vineyard, Giacomo, Giovanni and Gianlorenzo named this wine as Casanova di Neri’s founder. A remarkable wine, a pure Sangiovese’s expression born out of an ancient, untamed vineyard with half-century old vines spread over a great winegrowing terroir. While bringing together tradition and innovation is anything but an easy task, the Giovanni Neri manages that with an unmistakable elegance.

Perfume

Perfume

On the nose it is a symphony of young red fruits: cranberries, cherries and plums. Blood orange appears in the glass after.

Color

Color

Intense and bright red.

Taste

Taste

In the mouth the tannins are very fine, creamy and expansive. The acidity of the 2018 harvest is perfectly balanced with the generosity and structure of this wine. The finish is deep and persistent, a sign of a great future.

The Casanova di Neri farm began in 1971 when Giovanni Neri bought a large estate within the territory of Montalcino.
Today have about 48 hectares of vineyards divided between four quite distinct areas: the Pietradonice in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, the Cetine in Sant'Angelo in Colle, the Cerretalto and il Fiesole near the farmhouse of the same name facing Montalcino. The grapes have improved in quality so more care and attention has been taken in the winery from the vinification to the use of casks of different sizes and made from different types of wood.
