Description
Capovilla Bierbrand legno is a beer distillate produced at the Capovilla distillery in Rosà, in the province of Vicenza. The distillery was founded in the 1970s by Vittorio Capovilla, who, as a winemaking mechanic, decided to expand his business to distillation. After learning the art of distillation in Germany, Vittorio Capovilla now produces around twenty different fruit distillates, grappas, and beer distillates at his own distillery. His vision for this business never deviates from respect for the environment and the organic cultivation of the plants used for Capovilla products. Among the beer distillates, Bierbrand stands out, an excellent product born from the care and passion of this company. The beer, the basic ingredient of this unique spirit, is top-quality and is produced specifically by the Theresianer brewery for Vittorio Capovilla. It undergoes double bain-marie distillation and is then left to age in oak barrels for a period of no less than 48 months. The aging in wooden barrels gives the spirit a distinctive aftertaste. The result of this distillation and maturation is a product that bears some resemblance to a Scottish whisky, yet retains the typical tones of a well-crafted beer. The Bierbrand, like all other Capovilla brands, embodies the company's commitment to respecting the land, the key ingredients, and the environment in which they grow.

Numerous trips abroad, particularly Switzerland,
Germany and Austria, allowed me to discover the world of distillation which, unlike what was happening in Italy, laid the foundation for a completely different culture.
At that time in our country all had the ambition to distill "something" in the house without having the compenses to do so.
The passion for the world of distillates was born by accident in '74, the year I started to deal with machinery for oenology.
