Our story begins almost 130 years ago, in Puerto Plato, with Don Andrés Brugal Montaner and his belief in the values of passion, dedication and hard work. Such beautiful stories are born to be shared, just like the Brugal.

Don Andrés Brugal Montaner moved to the Dominican Republic with one goal in mind: to perfect the art of rum distillation. And so Brugal was born in 1888 - and the legend with it.

After almost 130 years, it is still the Brugal family that produces our handcrafted rum. Only members of the family are granted the title of 'Maestro Ronero'. Currently Jassil and Gustavo, of the fifth generation, share this honour. Read more
