Description

The Amarone della Valpolicella Case Vecie is produced by Brigaldara, on the thousand-year-old estate located in Valpolicella whose first sources of purchase and sale date back to the 12th century. The birth certificate of the agricultural company was signed in 1928, with the purchase by Renzo Cesari of the complex consisting of the manor house and the vineyards that start from the foot of Mount Masua up to the first hills. In 1873, the project for the complex's renovation was drawn up by engineer Giuseppe Fraccaroli, whose design represents the current layout. In the early 2000s, Stefano, Renzo's grandson, designed and implemented a rational vineyard system to specialize individual wine-growing areas with the most suitable varieties to enhance the vineyards and the fruits of the harvest. Today, Brigaldara is synonymous with biodiversity. which, through sustainable practices, aims to preserve a territory that for a thousand years has stood out for its vocation for quality viticulture.

The Amarone della Valpolicella Case Vecie takes its name from the vineyard located in Grezzana, which, thanks to its altitude and exposure, allows for a slow and constant ripening of the grapes.  The late harvest takes place in mid-October, with the grapes being selected and harvested by hand in the vineyard and dried in crates. In the cellar, vinification takes place with constant contact of the skins with the must for the entire fermentation process, as well as two daily pumpings over and a delestage halfway through fermentation to ensure optimal color extraction. The long aging takes place for two years in small wooden barrels and then two years in large oak barrels to ensure complete evolution of the wine and achieve persistent tannins.

Brigaldara is the wine chest that contains the different souls of Valpolicella. Brigaldara is a common overview, an anthology of Valpolicella - enriched by different perspectives, stories, experiences, generations.

A thousand years of history, one hundred and twenty hectares of property - forty-seven of which are planted with vines - distributed in three different areas of Verona: Valpolicella Classica, Valpantena and Eastern Valpolicella. A historic family, the Cesari, that has owned the villa and the surrounding land since 1928, who is committed to the enhancement of a rich and heterogeneous property. A team of young winemakers and agronomists dedicated to the study and customization of each intervention in the vineyard, to enhance the terroirs and microterroirs that make up the different souls of the wines that are here produced.
