Description

What kind of wine is it

Bourgeois Diaz Champagne BD’N Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature by Bourgeois-Diaz is a Blanc de Noirs Champagne created from a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Made strictly according to the Traditional Method, it offers a dry, taut and structured sip, enhanced by a fine perlage. The bouquet recalls pineapple and tropical fruit, evolving towards spicy notes and fragrant hints of yeast. On the palate, the Champagne is crisp and rounded, standing out for its remarkable persistence of flavour.

Where does it come from

This wine is produced in Crouttes-sur-Marne, in the heart of Champagne, thanks to the dedication of Bourgeois-Diaz. The vineyards are rooted in calcareous-clay soils which give the aromatic profile extreme clarity and a precise texture. The vines, around forty years old, are cultivated following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The careful approach of the family, active for four generations, ensures that each harvest expresses the authentic soul of the region.

How is it produced

The manual harvest allows for a rigorous selection of the bunches before traditional pressing. Vinification takes place in steel tanks and oak barrels to give solidity and precision to the blend. Subsequently, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle following the rules of the Traditional Method, maturing for twenty-four months on the lees. The final disgorgement in Brut Nature style, without any added sugar, preserves the original vibrant freshness of the sip.

History and Curiosities

For four generations, Domaine Bourgeois-Diaz has cultivated seven hectares in Crouttes-sur-Marne with a deep commitment to ecology, embracing organic and biodynamic farming. This proud récoltant-manipulant oversees every stage of production: from meticulous hand harvesting to traditional pressing, followed by expert vinification in steel and oak with 24 months of ageing in the cellar. Such mastery ensures an excellent ageing potential of 10-15 years. Awarded 92 points by Decanter, the BD’N cuvée reflects genuine excellence.

From this winery
Of our 6.80 hectares of vines, 3.5 hectares are planted with Pinot Meunier, 2 with Pinot Noir and 1.3 with Chardonnay. Our vines are 40 years old on average, and draw their vitality from their clay and chalk soils.

Here, where dense forests on one side of the river, and peaceful vineyards on the other, cover the hillsides, Champagne begins. It would have been easy for us to stay within the norm. But for Jérôme, the easy life is not worth living.
