Description
What kind of wine is it
The Champagne Ambonnay Grand Cru Extra Brut by Bereche is an expression of Pinot Noir that precisely reflects the characteristics of its place of origin. This Blanc de Noir stands out for its dry, full and rigorous profile, enriched by a pleasant velvety texture and a complex finish. Produced according to the Traditional Method, it reveals a clear aromatic bouquet where notes of pear and white flowers emerge, complemented by enveloping hints of toasted bread. On the palate, the structure is harmonious and deep, maintaining a distinct gustatory identity in every sip.
Where does it come from
This Champagne originates from Ambonnay, one of the most prestigious villages in the Champagne region, classified as Grand Cru. The vineyards are rooted in deep soil, characterised by a significant presence of clay and chalk, fundamental elements that give the wine structure and verticality. This terroir composition allows the Pinot Noir to express a vibrant territorial identity, resulting in a sensation of fullness and an articulated, satisfying persistence on the palate.
How is it produced
The processing of Pinot Noir involves a slow fermentation in barrels, a crucial technical step to define the consistency and aromatic complexity of the wine. The subsequent prise de mousse follows the principles of the Traditional Method, followed by a long 54-month maturation on the lees in the Bereche cellars. This stage is essential to consolidate the body of the cuvée and encourage the development of typical bakery notes. The very low dosage highlights its decidedly dry character, enhancing a full-bodied and velvety nature.

Every action has been adequately thought out. Of course our land is plowed and we also use weed control to limit disease. This vegetation cover avoids herbicides, insecticides and anti-rots. Everything begins with the soil. The fertilization is organic. We feed wildlife which in turn feeds flora and thus the soil is working. As a result the House Bérêche has one of the lowest treatment frequency index in the Champagne region. It is also among the first to be certified High Environmental Quality (level 3). Read more
