Description
What type of wine it is
Benoit Ente's Puligny Montrachet is a still white wine that expresses the essence of the Burgundy region with extreme precision. Made by vinifying 100% Chardonnay, it reveals a bright straw-yellow hue in the glass, enriched by delicate golden highlights. The olfactory bouquet is characterised by clear fruity hints that blend with elegant floral notes, the prelude to a sip of extraordinary finesse. On the palate, it proves harmonious, supported by a complex structure and a vibrant mineral footprint leading towards a persistent finish.
Where it comes from
The grapes originate in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, a prime area of the Côte-d’Or in Burgundy. This wine is born from the union of five distinct historic plots, where 50-year-old vines grow, located both in the lower part of the commune and on the surrounding slopes. This fragmentation allows the multiple nuances of the soil to be captured. Agronomic management follows the principles of organic viticulture, with entirely manual interventions aimed at maintaining low yields and preserving the integrity of the ecosystem, enhancing the natural mineral character of the area.
How it is produced
The vinification is conducted with extreme rigour to respect the quality of the raw material. The production process involves 18 months of ageing, designed in several phases to achieve a perfect balance. The wine initially matures in wooden barrels, then completes its rest in steel and glass tanks. This technical choice aims to preserve the freshness and fragrance of the aromatic profile. Thanks to a process that avoids invasive filtration, the wine maintains an intact structure, presenting itself as an artisanal white capable of faithfully interpreting the original characteristics of the harvest.
