Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Silver Brut Nature by André Clouet is a refined Blanc de Noirs made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes. Crafted according to the strict rules of the Traditional Method, it expresses itself in its driest and purest form, without any added sugar dosage. In the glass, it stands out for its lively perlage, which precedes fragrant aromas of strawberry, apple and pear. On the palate, the pleasant creamy structure harmoniously interacts with a vibrant and persistent mineral finish.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Bouzy, on the southern slope of the Montagne de Reims, in the historic heart of Champagne. The estate's vineyards, all classified as Grand Cru, grow on chalky and limestone soils that ensure excellent drainage. The terroir is characterised by a valuable dual climatic influence, both oceanic and continental, which guarantees an excellent water reserve and proper sun exposure. This combination allows the Pinot Noir to reach perfect ripeness, giving the sip freshness and a pronounced sense of place.
How it is produced
The production process is based on targeted agricultural practices, from pruning to meticulous harvesting. In the winery, the grapes are processed in an ancient press and the must ferments in steel tanks thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts. The wine rests for a long time on the lees, stored in the estate's historic chalk cellars. The cycle of vinification is completed by manual riddling and disgorgement, preserving the straightforward, taut and well-defined identity of this label.
History and Curiosities
Originating from Bouzy, from the chalky soils classified as Grand Cru, André Clouet's Silver Brut Nature Champagne celebrates the family heritage evoked by the “Ancien Régime” style label. The synthesis of history and modernity is expressed in the production of pure Pinot Noir: the grapes, pressed in traditional presses, ferment in steel with indigenous yeasts. After a long rest in the historic chalk cellars, the manual disgorgement gives rise to a Blanc de Noirs with no dosage that captivates with its enveloping creaminess and a finish marked by a persistent mineral note.

It took more than two centuries and several generations of Clouet to get plots of vines in the terroir of Bouzy, which remain in the hands of the family of its founder. Bouzy is situated in the Southern part of the Mountain of Reims. The 9 hectares are classified as 100% Grand Cru. Only 17 of the 300 existing villages benefit from the status of Grand Cru, Bouzy being one of them. Lovingly tended vines ripen perfectly Bouzy pinot noir, one of the world's most complex strains. There is 8,000 feet per acre and soils are cool with calcareous clay. Read more
