Description
The Vogelmaier Moscato Giallo is produced in the Alois Lageder cellars, southwest of Lake Caldaro, in the beautiful valley of the province of Bolzano. The agricultural estate is in perfect cohesion with the territory and all the crops are completely biodynamic with anthroposophic principles with the aim of combining the scientific reality with the spiritual dimension and making the farm an organic microcosm where man and nature coexist and enrich each other. In achieving this goal, Alois Lageder has undertaken two projects. the Grandorto project, to make different crops coexist in addition to viticulture, with the aim of having a responsible and far-sighted agriculture, and the Buoi project, which with the aim of creating an ecosystem that unites man with flora and fauna, allows oxen to graze in the open air all year round, which among other advantages increases the fertility of the vineyards.
The Alto Adige region is renowned for transmitting freshness and a clear profile to wines and certainly the Alois Lageder Vogelmaier Moscato Giallo, included in the "le composizioni" line, is one of these. In the collection we can find wines of great character that are born from the union of various components in the cellar and are born from studies on the quality of each vineyard, and the Vogelmaier is an example of a Muscat vinified dry to balance the enormous sweetness. Produced using the organic-dynamic method, with the essential role of the winemaker who identifies himself as a mediator of the microcosm of these yellow Muscat grapes, mostly coming from the Vogelmaier farm, it is harvested in mid-September. The soil in which the viticulture takes place is sandy, gravelly, and partly clayey. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in steel and ages for approximately 6 months on the fine lees in steel. Part of the fermentation and vinification takes place in contact with the stems and skins. Optimal aging is 1-4 years and it is balanced, medium-bodied, and fruity.
