Description

Barolo DOCG, still red wine, 15% ABV, 100% Nebbiolo, produced by Aldo Conterno in the prestigious Bussia area of Monforte d'Alba, Piedmont. 0.75 L bottle, 2021 vintage. A Barolo that embodies the passion of a family that has shaped the history of Italian wine. The grapes are harvested in mid-October and selected in the vineyard. The wine ages for approximately 26-28 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. Aromas of leather, vanilla pod, sweet scents of rose petals, plum, and citrus peel. The flavor is tight, fresh, high in acidity with well-defined aromas of leather, cherry peel, anise, and hints of oregano.

Aldo Conterno founded his winery in the sixties, after the division of the legacy of his father James, one of the central figures of Italian post-war. Today the company, a sort of monumental fortress in the center of Bussia Monteforte, is undoubtedly one of the biggest names not only of the Langhe, but around the world of Italian wine. Here are some of the greatest Barolo born of history, beginning with numerous memorable versions of Granbussia, a reserve produced only in great vintages.
