Cantina della Volta

Although the winery is located in the heart of the Lambrusco di Sorbara region, Christian and his father, Giuseppe, have always cultivated a passion for high-quality sparkling wines. Numerous visits to Epernay, the capital of Champagne, to study the making of wines with the Classic Method and then apply it to the grapes processed in their winery in Bomporto, Modena. This great passion for the Classic Method led Christian Bellei to found the Cantina della Volta winery in 2010.

The winery is based in the original Cantina Bellei building, built by Christian's great-grandfather near the embankment of the canal Naviglio di Bomporto near the 18th-century Dock. In this place, boats had to make a turn on their route to resume navigation towards the city of Modena. The symbol of the riverboat and the company name of the Cantina della Volta are owed to this place, rich in meaning and history.
