Description
What kind of wine it is
Vite Colte Barolo del Comune di Barolo Essenze is a still red wine that embodies the soul of Nebbiolo. In the glass, it reveals an intense ruby colour with elegant garnet highlights. The bouquet is deep and multifaceted, with fragrances of violet, vanilla and goudron, combined with a distinct balsamic note. On the palate, it is dry, warm and of extraordinary structure, supported by vigorous yet balanced tannins. The finish is long and persistent, offering vivid hints of ripe black and red fruits. This prestigious Piedmontese wine is the ideal choice to accompany mature cheeses or a flavoursome braised wild boar neck.
Where it comes from
This Barolo is born in the heart of Piedmont from a careful blend of grapes grown in selected hillside crus, situated between two hundred and eighty and three hundred and eighty metres above sea level. The vineyards stretch across historic and prestigious areas such as La Volta, Ravera, Bussia and Annunziata. The soils boast a clear marine sedimentary origin, dominated by the Marne di Sant’Agata, alongside clay-limestone rocks and sandstones. This rich and deep pedological matrix nourishes the roots, providing the vines with optimal conditions to generate intense aromas and ensuring the wine’s excellent ageing potential.
How it is produced
The meticulous vinification aims to extract the purest essence of the fruit. After harvesting, the must undergoes fermentation with skin maceration for about twenty days, while the subsequent malolactic fermentation is completed in steel to preserve the aromatic freshness. Maturation continues for twenty-four months in small oak barrels, imparting softness and enveloping tertiary nuances. A final rest of six months for bottle ageing seals the final harmony. This is a certified vegan wine, best enjoyed after careful decanting.
