Description
What kind of wine it is
The Sancerre Grand Chemarin by Vincent Pinard is a still white wine with an elegantly dry profile, capable of offering a true expression of the Loire in the glass. Made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, it stands out for its pronounced mineral character, delivering a clear and profound sip. Its defined structure and dry finish make this wine particularly versatile at the table. Thanks to its balanced taste, it is ideal for enhancing dishes based on lean fish and pairs harmoniously with selections of cheese.
Where it comes from
This Sancerre originates from the area of Bué, within the renowned appellation located in the Loire region. The vines take root in caillottes soils, characterised by a strong presence of limestone pebbles and clay-limestone matrices. The altitude of the rows, situated between 260 and 280 metres above sea level, encourages a taut aromatic development and gives the wine a marked minerality. Cultivation follows a natural and organic approach, supported by predominantly manual work to best manage planting density and ensure limited yields.
How it is produced
The production process begins with a strictly manual harvest in crates, followed by a careful selection of the bunches. In the winery, the process is based on minimal intervention, starting with a slow and gentle pneumatic pressing. The journey continues with ageing for ten to twelve months in barrels, allowing for ideal structural development. To preserve the integrity of the product and its expressive purity, the wine is kept unfined and unfiltered.
History and Curiosities
Originating from the Bué area in the Loire, the Sancerre Grand Chemarin 2023 from Domaine Vincent Pinard is a wine of absolute excellence. This pure Sauvignon Blanc reflects the winery's natural philosophy, produced from hand-picked grapes grown on soils rich in limestone pebbles. The delicate vinification and ageing in 600-litre barrels enhance its pronounced minerality and elegantly dry profile. Unfiltered to preserve its most authentic essence, this renowned wine pairs perfectly with lean fish and cheeses.

The estate is 17 hectares are mainly located on the hills of Bué, a famed winegrowing village that boasts limestone and clay-limestone terroirs, We do not use any herbicides, insecticides or anti-rot treatments, etc. Most of the work in the vineyards is done by hand (including harvesting). We have chosen to limit yields and produce small quantities of grapes (few grapes per vine stock). In order to do so, we prune short, disbud and thin the clusters (green harvest). The grapes are handpicked and we select the finest grapes at the sorting table.
We intervene as little as possible. Everything depends on grape selection. If the fruit is healthly there is no need to use artificial products during the vinification process. Depending on the curvée, we work with tanks, wooden vats or 228-litre and 600-litre barrels. Read more
