Description
What kind of wine it is
The Meursault Les Narvaux by Vincent Girardin is a still white wine that precisely expresses the character of Chardonnay grown in Burgundy. On the palate, it offers a lively complexity and excellent balance. The aromatic profile features notes of white flowers, almond and hints of flint, with a long and persistent finish. Thanks to the extended ageing on fine lees, the structure gains remarkable breadth, making it the ideal accompaniment for refined dishes such as sushi, delicate seafood risottos and the bold flavours of blue cheeses.
Where it comes from
This label originates in the commune of Meursault, in the heart of the renowned Burgundy region. The vines grow in a cool, stony terroir situated on a slope, where the optimal east-facing exposure ensures the grapes retain a naturally pronounced acidity. At the base of the hill, the soils are predominantly clay-limestone mixed with siliceous residues, while halfway up the slope, stony limestone soils emerge, perfect for Chardonnay. The abundant minerality gives the sip a sense of drive and palate-cleansing freshness.
How it is produced
The approach in the vineyard follows the principles of organic and sustainable agriculture, culminating in a fully manual harvest followed by a rigorous selection of the bunches. In the winery, pneumatic pressing ensures a slow and gentle extraction of the must. Fermentations occur spontaneously, driven by indigenous yeasts, inside French oak barrels. The wine undergoes a long ageing on fine lees for 18 months without stirring. Before bottling, which is carried out according to the lunar calendar, a blend in stainless steel and a light filtration are performed.

The history of Maison Vincent Girardin is relatively recent. In 1980, at the age of 19, Vincent Girardin, the son of a family of winegrowers based in Santenay since the 17th century, decided to strike out on his own, and began producing wine from two hectares of vines that he had inherited from his parents.
From his earliest youth Vincent had a passion for working with vines, and great respect for the potential that they represent; his ambition was to produce his own wine.
The quality of his wines was quickly recognized by connoisseurs all over the world, and this enabled him to expand his activity, focusing primarily on the great white and red wines of the Côte de Beaune.
