Description
What kind of wine it is
Villa Angela Offida Passerina is a still white wine that expresses the essence of Passerina grapes in the Offida region. Produced by Velenosi, it stands out for its bright yellow colour with golden highlights. The bouquet opens with notes of chamomile and balsamic herbs, then evolves towards hints of Golden apple and citrus fragrances of lime. On the palate, it reveals a vibrant freshness accompanied by a pronounced savouriness, offering a well-structured taste that finishes with a persistent mineral finish.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in the Marche region, specifically in the area of Monteprandone and along the slopes of the Tronto river valley. The vineyards grow at around three hundred and fifty metres above sea level, benefiting from the constant influence of the Adriatic Sea. The Passerina vines sink their roots into medium-textured soils with a clay tendency, a geological composition perfect for giving the sip a distinct savoury character and a faithful representation of the Ascoli territory.
How it is produced
Production begins with a manual harvest carried out in the early hours of the morning to preserve the integrity of the bunches. After destemming, the grapes undergo cryomaceration, followed by gentle pressing to extract only the free-run must. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, keeping the fragrance of the varietal aromas intact. The process ends with ageing on fine lees enriched by weekly stirring, a fundamental practice to give the wine greater body and smoothness.
History and Curiosities
Born from the passion of the Velenosi winery, founded in Ascoli Piceno in 1984, Villa Angela celebrates the authentic soul of the Marche region. This elegant Offida Passerina DOCG expresses a native grape variety with unique charm, cultivated on the hills of the Tronto Valley at an altitude of 350 metres. Influenced by the nearby Adriatic Sea, the vines produce excellent grapes, enhanced by gentle pressing that allows only the free-run must to be extracted. A bright still white wine that masterfully blends territorial identity with vibrant mineral freshness.

The heart of the company is located in the historic city of Ascoli Piceno, which is located in the region Marche at a distance of about 20 km from Adriatic Sea and at a height of 150/200 m above sea level.
The company's farms extend across the hills that surround the splendid valley of the Tronto river, which, thanks to its clayey and fertile soils, has always been suited to the cultivation of vines.
In addition to the four companies located in Ascoli Piceno, Castorano, Monsampolo del Tronto and Castel di Lama, there is a vineyard in the area of Ancarano (TE) and in the area of San Marcello (AN), between the Castelli di Jesi.
Since the beginning, the winery has achieved great success with journalistic criticism published in the most renowned national and international newspapers such as: W, Robert Parker, Red shrimp, Luca Maroni, AIS and many others.
This is why it is present throughout the national territory with the collaboration of 85 agencies and abroad where it is present in 52 nations both in Europe and in the rest of the world.
Production to date is approximately 2.500.000 bottles and the expectations certainly don't stop there. Read more
