Description
What kind of wine it is
Querciantica is a still red wine by Velenosi, a proud representative of the Lacrima di Morro d’Alba Superiore denomination. Made from Lacrima grapes, it displays a ruby red colour with deep violet highlights in the glass. The aromatic profile releases intense notes of strawberry and morello cherry, combined with elegant hints of violet and rose. On the palate, it reveals a fleshy structure, supported by good savouriness and polished tannins that enhance its smoothness. The flowing sip finishes with a pleasant persistence.
Where it comes from
The grapes grow in the vineyards of San Marcello, in the province of Ancona, in the heart of the Marche region. The vines sink their roots into mainly clay and fertile soils, a factor that gives the wine its typical structural fullness and soft texture on the palate. Trained using the spur-pruned cordon method, the plants benefit from a terroir ideal for expressing the grape variety. This natural environment encourages a distinct colour and aromatic profile, concentrating the scents of small red fruits and delicate floral notes.
How it is produced
After harvesting, the bunches are destemmed and taken to stainless steel tanks. Controlled fermentation involves a twenty-day maceration on the skins. Daily pump-overs take place in closed fermenters, a technique essential for preserving the fragrance of the primary aromas. To fully appreciate its bouquet, it is recommended to decant the wine for an hour and serve it at 16-18 degrees Celsius. Its harmonious body pairs ideally with rich first courses, roast beef and mature cheeses.
History and Curiosities
The Querciantica Lacrima di Morro d’Alba DOC Superiore is a prestigious expression from the Marche region, crafted by the Velenosi winery. The grapes from the 2022 vintage, grown on the clay soils of San Marcello, give rise to a unique wine thanks to a targeted twenty-day maceration in closed fermenters. This technique enhances intoxicating aromas of strawberry, morello cherry, violet and rosebuds. In the glass, the deep ruby red colour with violet highlights stands out, heralding a fleshy and harmonious sip, guided by refined tannins and an elegant persistence.

The heart of the company is located in the historic city of Ascoli Piceno, which is located in the region Marche at a distance of about 20 km from Adriatic Sea and at a height of 150/200 m above sea level.
The company's farms extend across the hills that surround the splendid valley of the Tronto river, which, thanks to its clayey and fertile soils, has always been suited to the cultivation of vines.
In addition to the four companies located in Ascoli Piceno, Castorano, Monsampolo del Tronto and Castel di Lama, there is a vineyard in the area of Ancarano (TE) and in the area of San Marcello (AN), between the Castelli di Jesi.
Since the beginning, the winery has achieved great success with journalistic criticism published in the most renowned national and international newspapers such as: W, Robert Parker, Red shrimp, Luca Maroni, AIS and many others.
This is why it is present throughout the national territory with the collaboration of 85 agencies and abroad where it is present in 52 nations both in Europe and in the rest of the world.
