Description
What kind of wine it is
Valpanera Aquileia Cabernet Sauvignon is a still red wine from Friuli, characterised by a clear aromatic profile. In the glass, it displays an intense red colour with vibrant violet highlights. The bouquet reveals distinct notes of cherry, pleasantly balanced by spicy hints of wild herbs. On the palate, this Cabernet Sauvignon is lively and tannic, while maintaining a soft and enveloping texture that leads to a full and rounded finish. Its balanced structure makes it an excellent choice to accompany dishes with bold flavours.
Where it comes from
The identity of this red wine is rooted in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, within the historic production area of Friuli Aquileia. The Cabernet Sauvignon vines thrive in the estates of Scodovacca and Villa Vicentina, two renowned areas that offer an authentic and consistent expression of the region. The rows of vines sink their roots into clay soils, an essential feature that supports the tannic structure and imparts a decisive fullness to the sip. Thanks to these particular natural conditions, the Valpanera winery obtains grapes with an intense colour and a pronounced varietal character.
How it is produced
The production process begins with the harvest in the second half of September, when the bunches reach optimal ripeness. The intact grapes arrive at the winery for fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, a technique aimed at preserving the freshness of the fruit and aromatic precision. To best enhance the qualities of this Cabernet Sauvignon, it is recommended to open the bottle slightly in advance and serve it at a temperature between 14 and 16°C. At the table, its flavour profile pairs beautifully with pork, robust meats and cheeses.

Friuli is renowned for its esteemed white wines, attributed to several key factors: The region’s UNIQUE MICROCLIMATE, influenced by the Alps, provides warm days and cool nights, crucial for preserving grape acidity and freshness. This balance allows complex flavors to develop, resulting in vibrant, nuanced wines. The MINERAL RICH MARL AND SANDSTONE MICRO SOIL add distinct mineral notes. Friuli winemakers, with generations of expertise, blend traditional techniques with
modern innovations to elevate their wines. Friuli wines are celebrated for their AROMATIC PROFILES featuring citrus, stone fruits, and floral undertones, pairing beautifully with various dishes and loved by wine enthusiasts worldwide.
Between the sea and the Alpine snow‑capped mountains lies a narrow cultivable strip of land, shaped by alternating layers of clay, lime, and sandstone. This region offers a rare harmony between the sweetness of marine clay and the mineral
toughness of the Isonzo gravels. A natural equilibrium that enhances the character of our grape varieties and gives life to wines of exceptional quality. And it is precisely here that our winery is located. Read more
