Description
What kind of wine it is
The Pinot Noir Marjun from Tramin is a still, elegant red from Alto Adige. On the nose, it reveals clear scents of wild berries, plum and cherry, harmoniously intertwined with distinct spicy notes. On the palate, it stands out for its lively freshness, perfectly balanced by a smooth and seductive tannic structure. The fruity and juicy finish makes it ideal for pairing with game dishes, veal tartare and flavoursome cheeses.
Where it comes from
This red originates from vineyards situated between three hundred and fifty and six hundred and fifty metres above sea level. The name itself refers to the “marra”, a striking detrital band that overlooks the vineyards. The vines thrive on calcareous-clay soils with a solid porphyry rock base. The wine’s identity is shaped by the strong temperature variations, where warm Mediterranean-influenced days alternate with nights cooled by constant mountain winds.
How it is produced
Production begins with meticulous hand harvesting and gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, avoiding malolactic conversion to preserve the natural acidity. After maturing in steel and oak barrels, the wine is refined for eleven months in small barrels. This is followed by blending in a carefully crafted blend within wooden vats, concluding with a period of bottle ageing that ensures a solid ageing potential.
