Description

What kind of spirit is this

The Macallan Highland Whisky Double Cask by The Macallan is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky that delivers a smooth, structured profile balancing sweetness and oak. It opens with a creamy bouquet of candied apple, vanilla custard, and fresh wood. The palate reveals a harmonious blend of honey and spices, layered with citrus, raisins, and caramel. The journey concludes with a warm, persistent finish driven by elegant, dry oak notes.

Where it comes from

Originating from Aberlour in the Scottish Highlands, this spirit benefits from a climate that supports steady maturation. These conditions allow the liquid to integrate seamlessly with the wood, shaping a profile that is distinctly sweet and structured. The regional character is evident in its bright, golden-yellow appearance and a flavour set driven by sherry-led richness. Central to its identity, the local approach to cask ageing enhances the creamy aromatics and ensures a warm finish. The result is an expression defined by a balance between fruit, spice, and oak.
