Description
What kind of wine it is
Suavia's Soave Classico is a still organic white wine with controlled designation of origin, produced in Veneto from Garganega grapes and vinified in steel. On the nose, it opens with fresh fragrances of apple, Kaiser pear and hawthorn, enriched by lively citrus notes. On tasting, it reveals a juicy and creamy texture, supported by a defined mineral imprint and continuous hints of almond. Ideal paired with white meats or fresh cheeses, it offers a savoury and satisfying finish.
Where it comes from
This white originates in Fittà, in the heart of the Soave Classico area near Verona. Suavia's old vines reside on hillside slopes at three hundred metres altitude, with gradients reaching up to forty percent. The roots delve into volcanic soils, dark and deep in the Fittà and Tremenalto areas, enriched with basaltic rock in the Castellaro area. These geological characteristics give the wine its typical mineral savouriness, ensuring a defined structure and elegant balance.
How it is produced
The process begins with manual harvesting of the grapes in mid-September, from vines over forty years old. In the winery, the bunches undergo destemming and gentle pressing, followed by alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks. Part of the wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation to soften the palate. Maturation continues with ageing in steel on fine lees for five months. After a single membrane filtration, the final resting period stabilises the aromas, ensuring consistent freshness.
History and Curiosities
Born in the heart of Fittà, the Soave Classico DOC from Suavia encapsulates the passion of the Tessari family, guardians of these hills since the 1800s. This devotion comes to life in vineyards over 40 years old that sink their roots into deep volcanic and basaltic soils, braving dizzying slopes that reach up to 40%. The meticulous hand-harvesting in mid-September ensures perfect bunches for uncompromising quality. Awarded 95 points by James Suckling, this prestigious Venetian white faithfully expresses the vibrant energy and historic character of its noble terroir.

Our family has been living and cultivating the land since the nineteenth century in Fittà: a small rural village mounted like a precious stone on the hills of Soave Classico. The history of Suavia however began later, in 1982, when Giovanni and Rosetta (the father and mother), aware of the great potential of their area, decided to set up on their own and make their mark, crushing their grapes and making their own wine.
Today we three sisters, Meri, Valentina and Alessandra, carry on the family tradition and run the winery always working here in Fittà, where it all started. Read more
