Description
What kind of spirit is this?
Premium Dry Gin by Scapegrace is a New Zealand spirit bottled at 42.2% ABV. Crafted from a pure grain base, it is infused with twelve selected botanicals, including juniper, coriander, angelica, orris root, and cinnamon. The flavour profile is distinctly dry, rich, and intense, presenting sweet spices and abundant citrus notes. Its smooth structure evolves into a clean, refreshing finish. This well-defined character makes it highly suitable for mixology, performing flawlessly in a Gin and Tonic or a classic Martini.
Geographical origin
This artisanal spirit originates in New Zealand, born from the shared vision of two friends. The defining element of the local terroir is pristine mountain water sourced from the Southern Alps. Naturally filtered deep through subterranean rock, this water achieves remarkable purity. Relying on this vital resource guarantees a uniquely clear spirit character, ensuring the floral elements and aromatic botanical notes remain sharply defined and vibrant throughout the tasting experience.
Production process
Production begins by fermenting pure grain into a clean alcoholic base, followed by a meticulous botanical infusion. Distillation occurs in a nineteenth-century copper pot still, a method chosen to concentrate the flavours effectively. Operating strictly through small-batch production ensures precision and consistent quality across every run. This careful technique yields a highly balanced aromatic structure, perfectly highlighting the lively juniper alongside the crisp floral and citrus elements.
History and Heritage

A distillery dedicated to the highly artisanal production of Gin, made only in small batches, in order to always maintain high quality standards. A Gin that is born after the infusion, in the pure fermented wheat, of 12 different "botanicals", where, next to the juniper, we find coriander, angelica, iris, cinnamon and other elements, which contribute to enrich the olfactory profile.
During the working process, which uses a copper still of the pot-like type of the nineteenth century, also the water has its importance, and for this the team of Scapegrace uses the purest that flows on the southern mountain ranges of the New Zealand, filtered deep through underground rocks.
Today the distillery gives rise to two labels, the "Dry" and the "Gold", both awarded in different competitions, from London to San Francisco, demonstrating the quality that is found in the Scapegrace products, perfect to be mixed inside of the most famous cocktails, from the most classic Gin & Tonic to the everlasting Martini.
