Description

What kind of wine is it

The Champagne Grand Cru Haute Couture Extra Brut by Savart is a Blanc de Blancs made from Chardonnay grapes, featuring a dry, linear and vibrant profile. Crafted using the Traditional Method, it displays a bright straw yellow colour with golden highlights and a very persistent perlage. The aromatic bouquet reveals clear notes of ripe citrus fruits and white flowers, enriched by chalky hints, light spices and a delicate toastiness. On the palate, the pronounced minerality leads to a long, saline finish of remarkable precision.

Where does it come from

This wine originates from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, a renowned area in Champagne for Chardonnay cultivation. The Grand Cru designation highlights the prestige of these chalky plots, which impart a deep and distinct mineral character. The unique soil allows the essence of the terroir to be expressed directly and uncompromisingly, offering a dry and taut sip. This expression ensures a solid structure and a remarkable ageing potential, capable of exceeding twenty-five years.

How is it produced

Savart’s approach favours manual work and prevention, safeguarding the natural ecosystem’s balance in the vineyard. The winemaking process aims to preserve the purest expression of the fruit, enhancing the nuances of the land without stylistic imposition. This rigorous production results in a glass of absolute clarity and precision. Served at a temperature of 6–8 °C, thanks to its vibrant savouriness, it pairs beautifully with oysters and shellfish. It is also perfect for accompanying carpaccio, fish tartare and fine cheeses.

From this winery
Our approach, when it comes to vine and wine, intends to preserve an expression of nature that is as pure as possible. Our philosophy can be summarized in a single sentence : "The best wine is made using the best grapes."

In the vineyard, we give priority to handwork and preventive methods. Our aim is not to eradicate diseases but to preserve or help create a lively and varied ecosystem. Therefore, vinification and maturation do not consist of shaping wines according to our own wishes but in keeping and protecting a unique and fragile creation of Mother Nature. This enables you to discover all the aspects, all the differences, in other words, all the subtleties of our appellation. Our approach makes the Savart Champagne a laboratory of terroirs and designer cuvée.
