Description
Style of wine
Champagne La Barbette by Sacy Soeur et Frere is a Blanc de Noirs made from Pinot Noir grapes. This Grand Cru Champagne comes from the prestigious area of Verzy. It is a Brut Nature, with no added dosage, which stands out for its full and textured profile. Produced using the Traditional Method, it offers an authentic experience, characterised by a vibrant freshness and a marked mineral savouriness, without compromise.
Origin
This Champagne originates in Verzy, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, an area renowned for its Grand Crus. The climate, semi-continental with oceanic influences, combines with a deep soil, rich in silt and calcareous clay, resting on a subsoil of Campanian chalk. These territorial characteristics give the wine its extraordinary mineral depth and structural complexity.
How it is produced
The production is artisanal and meticulous. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in oak barrels, with natural malolactic fermentation. Tirage is performed using a traditional cork stopper, followed by a long ageing on the lees. The wine undergoes no fining or filtration and is crafted without the addition of any dosage, expressing the essence of its terroir to the fullest.
History and trivia
The Sacy Soeur et Frere Champagne La Barbette Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature 2022 was born as an authentic artisanal project created by Yaël and Jonathan Sacy for the Sacy Sœur & Frère single-parcel line within the historic Louis de Sacy maison in Verzy. This extreme and pure cuvée was created to enhance the inimitable character of the La Barbette parcel. The use of tirage under natural cork and rigorous natural vinification without any dosage define its essence, ensuring an extraordinary limited production of only 840 bottles annually.

The family has owned vines in Champagne since 1633, but it was André Sacy in 1962 who took the plunge and decided to produce Champagne, initially founding Champagne Sacy Père et Fils, which would later become Champagne Louis de Sacy.
Alain Sacy subsequently invested in the vineyard to achieve complete independence, allowing him to present his cuvées in France and internationally, starting with New York City in 2001.
Yaël and Jonathan Sacy, after various professional experiences in France and abroad, joined the family estate in 2013 to pursue its development and bring a new philosophy to both the vineyard and winemaking.
Today, the estate cultivates 18 hectares of vines with deep respect for the environment. The house's environmental commitment is certified by HVE (High Environmental Value) and VDC (Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne), which assess strict criteria such as water management and biodiversity on the property.
A significant portion of the estate has also been certified in organic viticulture under the Ecocert label since the 2023 harvest, with another part currently in organic conversion.
