Description
What kind of wine it is
Barolo Rocche dell’Annunziata Bricco Francesco Riserva by Rocche Costamagna is a red wine from Piedmont made from Nebbiolo grapes. Produced in the renowned Rocche dell’Annunziata cru in La Morra, this wine displays a structured and elegant character. The bouquet reveals clear aromas of plum, violet and rose, enriched by balsamic and spicy notes. On the palate, the soft tannins perfectly balance the structure, leading to a fresh and persistent finish, ideal for pairing with roasts, game and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards located in the municipality of La Morra, rooted in calcareous-clay soils that provide precise tannins and lasting flavour. The winery carefully tends this land, enhancing the specific characteristics of the soil. The vines, cultivated with low yields per hectare, allow for rich and concentrated fruit. This pedoclimatic environment gives the wine a natural structural elegance and reflects the essence of its area of origin, ensuring excellent stylistic continuity over time.
How it is produced
The vinification of Nebbiolo involves a maceration on the skins for about three weeks at a controlled temperature, an essential phase to optimally extract colour and structure while maintaining great aromatic clarity. Afterwards, the wine matures through a long ageing in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a further period of rest in the bottle. This process softens the tannins and harmoniously integrates the spices, resulting in a red wine with a complex texture that faithfully reflects its territorial vocation.
History and Curiosities
