Description
What kind of wine it is
Rimapere Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Single Vineyard is an organic white wine that embodies the typical New Zealand freshness. On the nose, it reveals notes of pink grapefruit, ripe lemon, passion fruit and delicate white flowers. On the palate, its elegant structure is complemented by lively, ripe acidity, offering a crisp sip that finishes with a persistent, mineral finish. The unmistakable hints of almond and flint enrich the tasting experience, making it the ideal accompaniment for oysters and seafood dishes, as well as pairing beautifully with vegetarian recipes and white meats.
Where it comes from
It originates in the Marlborough district, in the Rapaura sub-region known as the Golden Mile. The cool maritime climate and abundant hours of sunlight ensure the vines ripen slowly and evenly, locking in intense and defined aromas. The vineyard is planted on free-draining stony soil, covered by a thin surface layer of silt: a unique terroir that gives the wine its pronounced savouriness. Under the guidance of the Rothschild family, the Rimapere estate cultivates its own single vineyard, enhancing the natural characteristics of the landscape to achieve a result of pure territorial precision.
How it is produced
The grape processing aims to preserve the fruit's vibrancy through careful skin contact, followed by gentle pneumatic pressing. After cold settling of the must, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, lasting around two weeks. Under the supervision of oenologist Anne Escalle, the wine undergoes maturation in steel for five months, a technical choice designed to maintain maximum aromatic clarity. This rigorous process results in a wine with vibrant freshness, capable of reflecting the varietal essence in every nuance.
