Description

What kind of wine it is

Regnard Pommard is a still red wine that embodies the authentic character of Burgundy. Made from Pinot Noir grapes, it appears in the glass with an intense ruby red colour and deep violet highlights. On the nose, it offers a pronounced aromatic richness, dominated by well-defined fruity notes enhanced by subtle smoky hints. On the palate, it is juicy, supported by a structure based on fine, mature tannins. The sip finishes with a balanced and persistent finale, making it excellent for pairing with red meats, game, and flavourful cheeses.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in Pommard, in the heart of Burgundy. Its history is linked to Maison Regnard, a historic estate founded in 1860 and acquired in 1984 by the De Ladoucette family. Under their management, a careful restoration of the ancient château and vineyards was undertaken. The winery manages several outstanding plots, including seven vineyards classified as Grand Cru. The production approach is environmentally conscious, allowing the grapes to precisely express the distinctive characteristics of this renowned region.

How it is produced

The winemaking process aims to enhance the integrity of the fruit. After fermentation, the wine undergoes a period of maturation in barrels, a crucial stage that imparts the subtle smoky note detected during tasting. This ageing allows the structure to meld while preserving the freshness of the fruit. To best appreciate its bouquet, a serving temperature between 16 and 18°C is recommended. It is also advisable to allow a decanting time of one hour, essential for proper oxygenation and the full expression of its aromas.

History and Curiosities
