Description

What kind of wine it is

Barbaresco Riserva Rabaja by Produttori del Barbaresco is a red wine that embodies the essence of Nebbiolo. It appears with an intense ruby colour enriched by garnet reflections. The bouquet is characterised by notes of ripe cherry, raspberry and blueberry, blending with hints of violet and earthy nuances of undergrowth. On the palate, it displays a significant structure and a full body, supported by a pleasant freshness and well-integrated tannins. The finish is persistent, with delicate smoky notes. It is perfect paired with game dishes, red meats, robust risottos and mature cheeses.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from the renowned Rabajà cru, located in the heart of Barbaresco, Piedmont. The vineyards are situated on hillsides that benefit from excellent south-west exposure, an ideal condition for the perfect ripening of the grapes. The terroir is distinguished by clay-limestone soils with sandy veins, a geological composition that gives the wine strength and identity. The result is a glass that harmoniously combines power and finesse, reflecting the complexity and precise flavour profile typical of this exceptional area.

How it is produced

The production process involves manual harvesting of the grape bunches. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for twenty-four days. During this phase, prolonged contact with the skins and pump-overs ensure optimal extraction of colour and structure. The wine then matures in large oak barrels for thirty-six months, developing elegance and stability. Finally, a bottle ageing of nine months completes the cycle, resulting in an enveloping red, with firm tannins and extraordinary longevity.

History and Curiosities

Originating from the renowned cru Rabajà, this exceptional Barbaresco Riserva 2021 celebrates the legacy of the Produttori del Barbaresco, a historic establishment founded in 1958 that today brings together over 50 families. The prized Nebbiolo grapes, harvested entirely by hand, mature for 36 months in large oak barrels. The excellence of this vintage, awarded 97 points by critics, reflects an authentic tradition expressed in a structured and harmonious profile, ideal for elegantly accompanying any prestigious table.
