Description
What kind of wine it is
Pierre Mignon's Champagne Cuvée Pure Zero Dosage Brut Nature is an elegant dry sparkling wine. Crafted using the Traditional Method, it is made from a blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It features a fine perlage that precedes an intense aromatic profile, characterised by mineral notes of chalk, white peach and toasted hazelnuts. On the palate, it is enveloping, supported by a citrusy freshness that perfectly balances hints of toasted bread. The absence of added sugars ensures a vertical and clean finish, ideal for accompanying aperitifs, shellfish, lean fish or refined cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the Champagne region, with the heart of production located in Le Breuil, in the renowned Vallée de la Marne. This area, which stretches to the Côte des Blancs, is famous for its soils that impart pronounced minerality to the fruit. The Pierre Mignon winery cultivates these vineyards with great care, allowing the identity of the terroir to clearly emerge in the glass. The chalky matrix of the soil supports the structure of the wine, offering that typical elegance which makes Champagne unique in the world and reflecting the authentic character of the French landscape.
How it is produced
Production follows the strict protocol of the Traditional Method, designed to enhance the wine's complexity. The blend initially matures in the cellar: part rests for eighteen months in oak barrels, while the remainder is refined in bottle, gaining toasted nuances. The subsequent prise de mousse involves a five-year period on the lees, essential for achieving a fine and well-integrated perlage. The choice of zero dosage, with no added sugars, preserves a taut and crystalline profile, highlighting the cuvée's vitality, persistence and aromatic clarity.
History and Curiosities
Born in the prestigious Vallée de la Marne, Cuvée Pure embodies the excellence of the historic family-run house Pierre Mignon, founded in Le Breuil in 1892. The long ageing of five years on the lees, combined with the maturation of select batches in oak barrels, imparts absolute complexity to the palate. This artisanal dedication is masterfully enhanced by the absence of added sugars, a choice that reveals the most authentic soul of the terroir. A Champagne Grande Réserve of great charm, awarded 90 points by James Suckling.

The story begins in 1892, when Octave Mignon installed the first presses, laying the foundations of what was to become a renowned Maison de Champagne. Over the decades, each generation has contributed to shaping its identity, combining ancestral know-how with a constant quest for quality.
It was Pierre Mignon, however, who marked a decisive turning point in the company's development. Thanks to his vision and commitment, he firmly established Maison Pierre Mignon as one of the most prestigious names on the Champagne scene.
Today, the story continues with Céline and Jean-Charles Mignon, worthy heirs to this family passion, who carry on the work of their forebears, upholding the values and excellence of the House. Read more
