Description

What kind of wine it is

This brut rosé Champagne from Pierre Mignon is crafted from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir grapes and is produced using the Traditional Method. In the glass, it reveals a bright pale pink hue, enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. The aromatic bouquet is complex and layered, with notes of ripe fruit, red berries and figs merging with hints of spices and gingerbread. On the palate, it displays a silky and full-bodied structure, balanced by lively acidity. The sip develops with refined bitter nuances that define its profile, leading to a fresh and lingering finish.

Where it comes from

The grapes come exclusively from the Clos des Graviers, a single enclosed vineyard located in Le Breuil, in the picturesque Marne Valley. This specific plot, with vines dating back to the 1950s, is characterised by a stony soil. The stones extracted from the ground have historically been used to build the typical dry-stone walls that mark the boundaries of the plot. This terroir gives the Champagne a distinct taste identity. The single-vineyard origin ensures a perfect balance between vibrancy and aromatic depth.

How it is produced

Vinification is carried out in full accordance with the Traditional Method, with particular attention paid to minimising clarification and filtration processes to preserve the integrity of the base wines. After the delicate prise de mousse, the long ageing on the lees lasts for almost ten years, enriching the organoleptic profile with elegant yeast notes and toasted hints that intensify with oxygenation. The brut dosage maintains a clear freshness, making the wine extremely versatile. It pairs well with lobster, smoked salmon, game birds, carpaccio and smoked tofu. Serve at 6-8 °C in large glasses.

History and Curiosities

The historic family-run maison Pierre Mignon, founded in 1892, signs this sublime Rosé Grand Vintage 2015, an exclusive expression born from the single vineyard Clos des Graviers. Planted in the 1950s on stony soil, this terroir gives the wine a distinctive identity. Thanks to meticulous ageing of almost ten years on the lees and minimal intervention in the cellar, the wine reveals its purest essence. A rare interpretation of the traditional method that celebrates the family's centuries-old dedication to the pursuit of absolute elegance.

Located in Le Breuil, in the heart of the Marne Valley, Maison Pierre Mignon embodies the excellence of a family tradition handed down from generation to generation. For over a century, the family has passionately cultivated its unique terroir, perpetuating the exacting art of champagne-making.

The story begins in 1892, when Octave Mignon installed the first presses, laying the foundations of what was to become a renowned Maison de Champagne. Over the decades, each generation has contributed to shaping its identity, combining ancestral know-how with a constant quest for quality.

It was Pierre Mignon, however, who marked a decisive turning point in the company's development. Thanks to his vision and commitment, he firmly established Maison Pierre Mignon as one of the most prestigious names on the Champagne scene.

Today, the story continues with Céline and Jean-Charles Mignon, worthy heirs to this family passion, who carry on the work of their forebears, upholding the values and excellence of the House.
