Description
Type of wine
Potenti Petra is a still red wine from Tuscany, made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Produced under the Tuscany denomination, this wine is distinguished by its profile of great structure and complexity. On the nose, it offers clear notes of dark fruits, such as blackberry and blueberry, accompanied by herbaceous and balsamic nuances and hints of toast. On the palate, it presents a powerful texture, with copious and rounded tannins, balanced by a pleasant freshness, closing with a long and spicy finish. The wine is aged in barrels, a technique that contributes to developing its complexity.
Origin
The grapes for this wine come from the Potenti vineyard, located in the locality of Riotorto, an area closely linked to the Bolgheri territory in Tuscany. The soils in this area are clay-sandy and slightly calcareous in nature, resting on a solid rocky matrix. This specific pedoclimatic context, combined with a favourable exposure and a temperate climate, ensures a balanced and consistent ripening of the bunches, giving the wine its typical vigorous and concentrated character, an authentic expression of its site of origin.
How it is produced
Production aims to enhance the natural qualities of the grapes. After the harvest and meticulous vinification, the wine begins ageing in barrels, a portion of which are new, for a period of at least eighteen months. This stage is crucial for softening the tannic texture and enriching the aromatic bouquet. Subsequently, the wine completes its journey with bottle ageing for at least another six months, a step that promotes the integration of the various components and consolidates the overall balance before being marketed.
