Description
What kind of wine it is
Valle Isarco Gruner Veltliner from Pacher Hof is a white wine with a mountain character, an authentic expression of the Alto Adige Valle Isarco region. Made from Gruner Veltliner grapes, it appears in the glass with a bright straw yellow colour and greenish highlights. On the nose, it reveals a delicately spiced profile, with recognisable notes of aromatic herbs and pepper. On the palate, the sip is fresh and structured, ideal for accompanying fish dishes or a selection of cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards located in Novacella, one of the most renowned areas of Alto Adige. The vines grow at a high altitude, between 650 and 900 metres, benefiting from a typically mountainous microclimate. The vines are trained using the Guyot system on stony soils, whose mineral content gives the wine a distinctive character. This high-altitude ecosystem shapes the aromatic identity of the fruit, ensuring finesse and a natural expressive purity.
How it is produced
Vinification involves fermentation in stainless steel, an ideal choice to preserve the integrity of the primary aromas. Afterwards, the wine matures on the fine lees for six months, a practice that enriches its roundness without masking the varietal freshness of the grape. Served at an ideal temperature between 12 and 14 degrees, this white reveals an elegant profile and a remarkable ability to age in the bottle, with the potential to evolve positively for several years.
History and Curiosities
The Pacher Hof Valle Isarco Grüner Veltliner 2024 originates from the historic Huber family estate, active since 1142. In Novacella, at altitudes between 650 and 900 metres, the grapes benefit from mineral-rich gravelly soils and a unique microclimate, which give the wine its unmistakable aromatic character. Refined by oenologist Andreas Huber for six months on the fine lees in steel, this mountain white reveals a delicately spiced bouquet with notes of herbs and pepper. An excellent expression of the DOC, perfect for pairing with fish dishes and cheeses for a refreshing touch.
