Description
What kind of wine it is
The Colli di Luni Vermentino Superiore by Ottaviano Lambruschi is a still white wine with a strong sense of place, produced in Liguria from Vermentino grapes. It appears a bright straw yellow in the glass, heralding an aromatic profile marked by notes of fresh fruit, yellow flowers and the typical scents of the Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it reveals a balanced character and a pronounced marine savouriness, with a clean finish that ensures a pleasant freshness. Ideally served between 10 and 12 degrees, it pairs perfectly with shellfish dishes, fish courses, white meats and the traditional Ligurian rabbit.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the heart of the Colli di Luni denomination, from a Ligurian vineyard located on the highest part of the hill overlooking the Apuan Coast. The vines, trained using the simple Guyot system at an altitude of 220 metres, benefit from optimal south and south-east exposure and are constantly refreshed by sea breezes. The medium-textured soils, rich in mineral red earth, are influenced by the close proximity of the historic Carrara quarries. This unique geographical and geological setting gives the grapes a distinctive minerality, precisely defining the identity of the terroir of origin.
How it is produced
Production follows a strict white vinification process, aimed at preserving the varietal freshness of the Vermentino. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, kept constantly between 15 and 18 degrees for a period of fifteen days. To ensure stability and antioxidant protection, arabic gum, potassium polyaspartate and L-ascorbic acid are used. The result is a wine of great aromatic precision, able to express intact the mineral tension and vibrancy characteristic of its territory.
History and Curiosities
Produced at an altitude of 220 metres on the hills overlooking the Apuan Coast, this pure Vermentino expresses the most authentic essence of Liguria. The vineyards benefit from a privileged south and south-east exposure, with roots sinking into medium-textured soils characterised by mineral-rich red earth. The meeting of the mild influence of the sea and the proximity to the historic Carrara quarries gives the wine an extraordinary identity. A symbolic wine of the Ottaviano Lambruschi winery, capable of best celebrating the vocation of this territory.

Supported by the invaluable enthusiasm of his brother Alessandro and endowed with remarkable professional skills, Ottaviano gradually succeeded in creating his first vineyard and producing his first wine — a bottling that already stood out as a symbol of excellence in the sector.
During the 1980s, Fabio, the founder’s son, earned a diploma in agricultural technology, giving him the opportunity to combine his innate passion with the most efficient production techniques. This allowed him to develop a modern and innovative winery that nevertheless preserved tradition, a precious heritage of the estate itself.
Over the years, the thriving Lambruschi enterprise expanded its holdings through the acquisition of vineyards located in the most prestigious areas of Ligurian viticulture. Meticulous care at every stage, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, together with rigorous grape selection, lends refinement and classic style to wines of the highest quality. Read more
